I always say to my potential clients “If you are not going to select Fresh to sell your property then please instruct one of my high street competitors”. You may say that I am just against online agents because of their competition, but this is not the case and I will explain why. We as a business can offer our clients an online package if we think they have the right property, knowledge and circumstances and will advise them in detail of the facts. However, it drives me mad to see online agents promoting ‘save on paying agents fees’.
I actually think they could be the most expensive option you can take.I would compare it to selecting a good accountant or solicitor. I think we all know that the cheapest option here could be the most expensive if through a lack of knowledge and skill they make the wrong decisions or give the wrong advice. It’s the same with trusting what could be your biggest financial asset to the cheap online option. It could work out very costly.
From speaking to fellow directors in the business we firmly believe that the negotiators or admin staff that have left high street branches for online agents are the ones that have simply not cut it in their previous roles. I firmly believe the best negotiators work in the high street as part of a professional team and thrive in this environment. I know from within my own office that I have good enthusiastic staff with a few years’ experience learning from fellow negotiators that have 10 years’ experience and from mangers that have proved to be the best. You need to be trusting your property with a team that have a collective know how to get you the best price and to get the sale pushed through the pitfalls of mortgages, surveyors and solicitors. I firmly believe that the setup of a lone negotiator working with a piece of software cannot give you this quality of work.
